I’ve been claimed again. Except this time, I am working at a Christian bookstore instead of a high-end retail clothing store. Ironically, grumpy customers still manage to follow me. It’s like I have this detection signal in my leg and people have radars to find me. “Oh, Krizel thinks she can escape the wrath of retail horrors by working at a Christian store. Let’s go send a rampant army of infuriated customers there to complain about not being able to use a coupon that expired in ’97. Maybe we’ll even try to return something completely irrelevant to the store, like a samurai sword and rotten waffles. I think there’s a pile of shirts we can demolish, too.”
Today, a person yelled at me for not being able to return an opened worship CD. A worship CD. It blew my mind. “I’m going to buy this worship CD, evacuate all the Christ love inside me and get furious. Then, I’m going condemn the retail associate (who actually has no authority to change policies) and just think she isn’t adequate enough to override corporate regulations. I think I’ll act like a big fat baby, too, by saying I’ll never shop there again and take my rage at another Christian store.”
God bless you, too, my friend. Grace over your travels across the valley of retail to challenge other associates’ patience. But really, just let me stare at my bookshelves in peace. Please.
I’ll even stare at featured section of books with enlarged photos of authors on the cover. Allow me to get entranced. Although… sometimes I stare at those books trying to find reasons why Christian books, and even secular self-help books, think it’s a good idea to plaster the author’s close-up photo on my hardcover. Are we suppose to personalize with them? You don’t see Jesus on the cover of my Bible.
I guess it does make me want one.
Anyway, that’s where I am at. Also, I’m committing to at least 4 posts this week. The Boyfriend is holding me accountable. Watch out for them.

Yeah! I have been checking for more fun reading opportunities only to be disappointed, until today! Way to go Nathan.
